Salmon Pink Birdeater Tarantula

The Salmon Pink Birdeater is one of the largest and fastest-growing tarantula species in the hobby, admired for its impressive size, hardy nature, and beautiful salmon-pink coloration. Native to Brazil, Lasiodora parahybana is a powerful New World terrestrial species that has become a staple in collections ranging from beginner hobbyists to advanced keepers.

As slings mature, they develop long pinkish setae across the legs and abdomen, giving the species its signature “salmon pink” appearance, especially noticeable after fresh molts. Known for their aggressive feeding response and rapid growth rate, these tarantulas are incredibly rewarding to raise from sling to adulthood.

Despite their massive adult size, the Salmon Pink Birdeater is generally hardy and straightforward to care for when provided with proper space, ventilation, and substrate depth. While typically more defensive than beginner species such as Grammostola, they are still considered manageable for keepers with some tarantula experience.
