Cyriocosmus aueri

Peruvian Dwarf Redleg Tarantula

The Peruvian Dwarf Redleg Tarantula is a beautiful and compact New World species admired for its dark coloration, subtle metallic tones, and vibrant reddish leg accents. Native to Peru, Cyriocosmus aueri is a dwarf species that offers fascinating behavior and impressive coloration without requiring large enclosure space, making it an excellent addition to both growing and established collections.

This species is known for being an active webber and opportunistic burrower, often creating dense silk retreats throughout the enclosure. Despite their smaller size, they display excellent feeding responses and are highly enjoyable to observe, especially during nighttime activity when they become more visible around their webbing and hides.

Like many dwarf tarantulas, Cyriocosmus aueri grows steadily and remains manageable in size, making it ideal for keepers who appreciate smaller species with unique personality and attractive coloration. Their calm but occasionally skittish nature makes them approachable for newer hobbyists while still remaining rewarding for experienced keepers.
