Hapalopus guerreroi

Speckle Patch Guerrilla Tarantula

The Speckle Patch Guerrilla Tarantula is a small but incredibly eye-catching dwarf species admired for its velvety dark coloration, unique speckled patterning, and active feeding behavior. Formerly known within the hobby as Hapalopus sp. “Guerrilla” and often associated with Hapalopus vangoghi, Hapalopus guerreroi has quickly become a favorite among collectors looking for vibrant dwarf tarantulas with plenty of personality.

This species is well known for its heavy webbing tendencies and energetic hunting response despite its smaller size. Slings and juveniles are highly active, often creating intricate silk tunnels and web mats throughout the enclosure while remaining visible more often than many fossorial dwarf species.

As they mature, the subtle speckled markings and earthy tones become increasingly noticeable, giving this species a unique appearance that stands out among other dwarf tarantulas. Their manageable size and fascinating behavior make them an excellent option for keepers who enjoy active display species in compact setups.
