Psalmopoeus ecclesiasticus

Rose Gold Tarantula

The Rose Gold Tarantula is a breathtaking arboreal species admired for its warm rose, bronze, and gold coloration combined with the fast, elegant behavior the Psalmopoeus genus is known for. Native to Central America, Psalmopoeus ecclesiasticus has quickly become a highly desirable species among collectors due to its unique coloration, active nature, and impressive webbing behavior.

As this species matures, subtle metallic rose-gold tones begin to emerge across the legs and body, especially noticeable after fresh molts under proper lighting. Like other members of the Psalmopoeus genus, this species creates elaborate web retreats throughout cork bark and elevated anchor points, often remaining visible near the entrance while waiting for prey.

The Rose Gold Tarantula is a fast-moving and highly food-responsive species that thrives in well-ventilated arboreal enclosures. While lacking urticating hairs, they rely heavily on speed and defensive behavior when threatened, making them best suited for keepers with some prior experience working with arboreal tarantulas.

Species Highlights

  • Unique rose-gold and bronze coloration
